7/6/22

Tawas

 

We picked up Claire (Adam's friend) this morning around 9:45 and headed to the campground to meet Mom, Vikki and the kids.  We met at the ice cream store.  Jacob, Adam and Claire drove with Nana.  Vikki and the kids came with Eli and I.  They brought me a coffee to drink on the drive to Tawas.  When we got to Tawas we walked out on the pier.  It was a nice cool day in the high 60's.  A sailboat was sunk in the water by the dock.  After a nice walk we went to G's pizza for lunch.  Mom treated us all to yummy pizza and breadsticks!  Thank you Mom!!  We then walked to the Ben Franklin store.  It was so busy today.  We didn't stay in there long because it was too crowded.  We then drove to Oscoda's beach so the kids could swim.  It was too cold for us.  They stayed in the water for about an hour and had fun playing in the waves.  Jacob left his swim trunks at the campground but he didn't really want to swim in the cold anyway.  He lay on the beach.  The kids walked over to the playground and then we walked out on the pier. We drove back to the campground and the kids played corn hole.  Mom, Vikki and I took a walk around the campground.  When we got back we made sandwiches.  Claire was eating her sandwich and realized, after taking a bite, that the cheese paper was still on her sandwich.  Haha.  We dropped Claire off at her house in Midland and got home around 9pm

Adam bought a new (used) phone.

 We took the van to the auto shop today to have the ac worked on.  Took Jared to work before heading home.  At home I worked on digging up and replanting zinnia plants.  I also edged around the flower garden by the bird bath.  The boys were awake when I went inside.  They came out and worked with their sheep.  Adam went for a run down the road.  Eli played with legos.  Jacob helped me work on putting up an electric fence for Bo.  He is eating over the fence and bending it badly.  We set up the tanks with automatic waterers.  I scrubbed tanks.  Around 4:30 I headed to Jared's work.  Jacob and Eli worked on cleaning the sheep stall.  Adam hoed the garden.  We picked up our van and its so nice to have working AC again.  They had to block it off so there is only air in the front but we can blow it to the back and it feels nice.  I went shopping for our Copper harbor groceries.  Jared took Adam to soccer practice.  We ate a late dinner when he got back.  

7/4/22

Isaac and Eli wanted eggs again for breakfast this morning.  They watched tv and played some Minecraft.  Jared and I sheared the boys 4H sheep and a couple ewes.  The clipper blade was getting dull after the third sheep.  We decided to wait on the rest and ordered some more sets of clipper blades.  The boys had ramen noodles for lunch.  We also had strawberry shortcake.  Jared mowed the lawn.  Eli played with legos.  Isaac sat out on the deck with me and played with magnetics and some other magnets.   Eli helped me wash the camping trailer.  Isaac played in the sandbox.  Jared and I weeded and trenched the big flower beds.  Nana brought the boys home from their weekend stay at the campground.  Adam worked on setting up his new phone.  We ate a late dinner and watched tv.  I sat on the deck under the umbrella while it was raining and talked to Vikki on the phone.  

7/3/22

Isaac wanted dunking eggs for breakfast and Eli had his scrambled.  We watched church online.   We went outside to work with the sheep.  Isaac was a little nervous with the barn swallows diving at him.  The boys stayed home while we went to Saginaw to buy a used phone for Adam.  He is selling his old phone.  We also stopped for groceries and got pizza for lunch.  The boys and Jared helped me make freezer jelly.  We also made bisquits for strawberry shortcake.  We made firestarters for camping.  We also got our coffee pods made with Eli and Isaac's help.  This evening we watched Dog with a blog.  Jared started a fire and the boys had fun with sparklers.

Pretty flowers from Jared

Eli fell on his bike just minutes after we got to the campground.  He almost fainted!

We got to the campground around 1:00.  We relaxed, took some walks, got some ice cream, went swimming and had a yummy dinner.  Thanks Mom and Vikki.  They grilled hot dogs and hamburgers.  Around 8:30 we headed to the other campground in Standish where they are having a firework display.  The older boys brought their bikes.  We set up our chairs and then Jared and I took a walk with Isaac.  Isaac was cute talking about the different vehicles we walked past.  Nana brought licorice and orange slices for us to snack on. We all enjoyed the fireworks. Adam sent some videos to his friend Claire.  Isaac came home with us to spend the night.
