Christmas band concert!

High school band

 Jared took the Jacob and Eli to school this morning.  Jacob got on the Delta bus and Eli got Covid tested.  He tested negative.  Jared had to go into work this morning but came home around 9:30.  He worked from home.  We glazed pots today.  At 11:45 we had an IEP meeting at school for Eli which went well.  Finished glazing at home.  This evening we went to Meridian's Christmas band concert.  It was a great concert!  The first concert was the 6,7,,8th graders and then was the 5th and high schoolers. The jazz band also played.  Adam had pizza in the oven when we got home.   We ate a late dinner and played some bed wars.  

12/6/21

 Jared took Jacob to school this morning and took Eli to be Covid tested.  The test was negative.  After taking the boys to school I headed to the auto shop to meet Jared.  The brakes in the van aren't working well so we decided to leave the van instead of the car.  We stopped at the post office on the way to Jared's work.  I headed home after dropping him off.  I sure don't like driving the car with it acting up the way it is.  Can't wait until both vehicle are fixed.  Today I did some Christmas shopping online.  I also waxed pots and glazed the insides.  When we got home from school Eli went out to help me fill Bo's hay.  We took the rest of the round bale out to his box in his lean too.  It was heavy but we got it in the wheel barrel and hauled it out there.  Then Eli took some hay to the ram and Han.  Jacob was really stressed about an essay that was due tonight.  He thought he had until the 10th but just found out yesterday that its due today.  After dinner we played some minecraft with the boys.  We tried to stay quiet so Jacob could concentrate.  After awhile Jacob breathed a sigh of relief and said he got a new email saying that it was a typo and the essay isn't due until the 10th.  He was so happy and came to play some miencrat with us.

The boys slept in this morning.  We attended church online.  Played some Minecraft and then headed to the store for groceries. Jacob stayed home to work on homework.  We stopped to pick up some round bales on the way home.  The farmer left them on his hay wagon.  When we got home Jared unloaded them with the tractor while the boys helped me put away groceries.   After lunch we played some minecraft with the boys.  This afternoon we decorated the decks with Christmas lights.  It was cold and sleeting out.  We had lots of help so it got done quickly.  The cats love the igloo on the deck, especially Koala.  The boys then helped us unload the kiln.  We went to check on Bo and he was eating hay in his lean to.  We took him some treats.  Jacob has almost finished the puzzle.

Someone left this at the end of our road.  

We power washed it and it looks great.  I will be selling it but for now Eli wants it on the deck for the cats.

Jacob got the tree clamped into the base and then realized he'd put the middle piece on the bottom.

He made a little tree.  Haha

The boys were up early to watch tv.  Jared went to town to get our Sat goodies and dropped off a bunch of packages at the post office.  We played some Minecraft.  Then the boys helped us clean the house.  This afternoon we saddled up Bo and Eli rode him around in the paddock.  I put out cones and Eli practiced weaving those.  Bo has only been taught to drive so having someone on his back is new to him.  He hasn't learned how to move to leg pressure so he takes some effort to get him to trot.  He trots good while lunging so I put him on a lunge line with Eli on him.  Eli practiced using leg pressure while I used the lunge whip to encourage him to trot. He did really good. Jared rode him around the paddock and he was doing good.  I thought we'd have Eli ride double with Jared.  I gave Eli a leg up and stepped back to get a picture.  Next thing I knew Eli was on the ground.  Bo bucked at having something on his hind end.  Eli thought it was funny and couldn't wait to tell his brothers.  Jared rode him some more and then Eli rode him to the barn.  Eli warmed up with some hot chocolate.   This evening we put up the Christmas tree.  We had fun decorating the tree and listening to Christmas music.  Adam set up the nativity.  We played some Minecraft bedwars and then watched an I Love Lucy.   

12/3/21

 The boys had a half day today and we had plans to got to Nana and Papa's after school. Jacob and Adam were going to spend the night there and Isaac was going to come home with us.  We were also going to go to the Living Nativity this evening.  On the drive to school I got a call saying that Eli had been exposed to Covid.  He will need to wear a mask until the 12th and will be Covid tested on Mon, Tues, and Thur.  I called my mom and we decided we shouldn't come over.  This morning the brake light came on in the van.  There is a leak and we've been adding brake fluid.  We are planning to take it in  but Jared's car needs to be fixed first and has an appointment on Monday.  The brakes got really soft while I was driving and I had to push the pedal to the floor to stop. I pulled over and called Jared.  I added brake fluid and then headed to the school. After a while the brakes got better.  After lunch we played some minecraft.  Then we went outside to see Bo.  Eli rode him bareback around the paddock.  He really likes riding bareback.  After dinner we played some Minecraft bedwars.  We loaded the kiln this evening.  I didn't think we could fit it all but Jared got it all in.  We started a new puzzle a few days ago.  Its a really hard Star Wars puzzle.  Jacob got a lot done on it this evening.  

12/2/21

 Today I trimmed mugs and added handles. I made some into double handled mugs.  After school Eli and I went out to take care of Bo.  We filled his hay box.  Thor is scared of Bo but Koala love him and rubs on his legs. She likes to lay in the hay in his lean-to.   We brushed Bo and then turned him out in the big paddock with the sheep.  Eli walked him over to the sheep. They let him get closer before they ran away.  Eli wanted to ride Bo bareback so I gave him a leg up and lead him around the paddock.  Jacob still only wanted jello for dinner.  After dinner we played some minecraft bedwars with the boys.

The sheep still don't know what to think about a horse.  Haha

I did some Christmas shopping online this morning.  This afternoon I threw some mugs on the wheel.  Jacob had a lot of homework to work on.  He started working on it when he got home from school.  His teeth are feeling better but he still ate jello for dinner. Eli and I went out to take care of the animals.  Eli turned Bo out with the sheep for a couple hours.  He noticed some hard packed snow on Bo's hooves so he got a hoof pick and cleaned them out.  We checked on the fox's den and noticed the entrance has collapsed to a horse hoof.  Adam and Jacob went to youth group this evening.  We took some packages to the post office.  Stopped at Home Depot, the Dollar store and Meijer.  Eli picked out some frames at the Dollar store for some of his drawings.
