5/7/2020

I could hear the orioles singing this morning. I saw a couple orioles in the aspen tree and then saw one in the cottonwood by the barn.  The bluebirds were busy today.  The boys watched some tv and then did school work.  Adam had a couple zoom meetings.  In science his teacher dissected a pig heart which he thought was cool.  I read for a to the boys after lunch.  Then I worked outside digging the weeds around the raspberries.  After Jared finished work he tilled the garden again.  I shoveled the grass around the garden to make a neat edge.  Jacob helped raked dirt back into the garden.  It looks so nice.  The boys played minecraft.  After dinner Jared and I played Sequence.  I won so many times I lost count.  I was feeling bad for Jared and wanted him win.  We all took a walk in the woods and then down the road to check the mail.

Adam had a zoom meeting at 9:00 and Eli's was at 9:30.  Jacob had 4 meetings today.  The weather was really nice today.  We enjoyed watching the bluebirds and the orioles.  We gave the oriole's some grape jelly which they enjoyed.  Adam and I played chess and he won pretty quickly.  I moved some things in the flower beds.  Jared tilled the garden.  We went shopping for groceries.  After dinner Jared, Adam and I played several games of Sequence.  The boys build a fire by the swing and we sat out in the woods.  We made smore's.  Adam went inside to get our book so I could read to them.

Naughty cat!

It was a cool day today.  The boys watched tv and then worked on school work.  Daddy came home for lunch and watched a Star Wars Rebel's with the boys.  I looked out the window and the ewe's were loose in the yard.  They knocked over a gate.  After lunch Adam and I played chess and he won.  We had a hollyhock seed sprout today.  The seeds are at least 7 years old! Adam and I played chess this afternoon and Adam won.  I read to the boys and we finished Jacob's Choice.  After dinner Daddy and Adam played chess.  Daddy won.  Jared and I played Sequence and I won all 8 games.  Jared had a phone park meeting this evening.  I started reading Joseph's Dilemma.

Seeds sent to us from Jared's friend

The boys each had one zoom meeting today.  Eli's class played 20 questions.  Adam finished with his school work pretty quickly.  He helped me reorganized some things in the barn.  Eli came out and scared me a couple times.  He thought it was very funny.  After lunch Adam and I played a game of chess.  Adam won.  Then we played Ticket to Ride with double the trains and I won.  I painted and caulked around the doors outside.  The hornets were going in the gap around the door.  I read Jacob's Choice to the boys. We took a walk with Adam and Eli down the road for the mail.  We got seeds from Jared's friend in the mail.  We started some of the seeds that could be started inside.  Jacob made sloppy jo's for dinner.  After dinner Eli helped us feed sheep and then we took a walk in the woods.  We watched a Star Wars Rebels.  Read to the boys before bed.

We had banana bread and coffee this morning and watched our church service.  After church we went outside.  We decided to take out a wall in the barn and then cleaned out the loft.  The boys are such a huge help.  They made a huge pile of wood to burn in the garden.  The previous owners stored a bunch of metal in the rafters.  We took it all down and hauled it to the end of the road.  We took down the fort that the boys don't play in any more. We had a locker stored up in the fort and we took that to the end of the road.  We are going to redo the flooring for the hay loft by the old fort but that will be for another day.  We went inside and had pizza for lunch then we came back out to work.  This afternoon the boys played their computer time.  We sat on the swing and called Grandma.  We took a walk in the woods.  Adam had fallen asleep in our bedroom.  We had popcorn pop and ice cream and watched Star Wars Rebels.

We watched Star Wars Rebels this morning and had our Sat morning goodies.  We then went outside to work in the yard.  Adam mowed the lawn.  Jared and Jacob hauled several loads of trash to the dumpster.  I did some more cleaning and organizing in the barn.  I power washed the peeling paint off the door in the barn that leads to the garage.  I was covered in paint chips.  What a mess.  It got all over the push mower and bikes so I had to take them outside to spray them off.  We came in for lunch and the boys played minecraft.  Daddy and I went to get some plants from Boehler's greenhouse.  We also stopped at meijer for a few things.  We had dinner when we got home and then went outside until it was getting dark.  Came inside and read to the boys before tucking them in bed.  We got a little bottle for feeding Eli's bunny and it ate good from it.

Eli's chick he calls Indian

The boys watched some tv and then worked on school work.  No zoom meetings today.  Jacob had so much work today that he worked on school work from about 9:00 until 11:30 tonight without many breaks inbetween.  He had to make a video for the 4th graders, selling his instrument. Eli helped me take pallets apart.  We came inside for lunch and then I read a chapter to the boys.  Jacob has read these books so he worked on school work while listening.  We went back outside to work on pallets.  Daddy got done with work early and helped us.  Then we built some planters to go on our front deck.  Daddy, Adam and Eli went to the Freeland grain elevator to get our sheep food.  Jacob helped unload the grain.  The cats were playing with a newborn bunny which Eli wants to try to save.  We don't know where the bunny home is but the cats found another one and killed it.  Eli has it in a box by his bed.  We told him it probably won't make it but he still wants to try.
