2/15/2020

I went out at 5:00 to check on Della.  She's looking like she is going to lamb soon.  It was very cold outside.  We went out to check on the sheep around 8:30 and Della had lambed twins.  It was only 6 degrees outside and the lambs were covered in icy amniotic fluids.  I dragged them to a stall and my hand was freezing from pulling their icy legs.  We warmed them up with towels  We tube fed them some colostrum.  They are doing very well.  There is a boy (11.4 lbs) and a girl (12.8 lbs).  The boy lamb's umbilical was swollen and bleeding.  We tied it off with a single strand of cotton yarn.

We woke up a early and Daddy opened his birthday presents.  He got m&m's, a snow shovel, a charging cord and wall adapter, and an Amazon Echo alarm clock, We had candles lit on the table and some valentines bags with treats in them for the boys.  Daddy played around with his new smart alarm clock.  After work I went home and Jared had just gotten home.  He had fun trying out different things on his alarm.  We went to school to get the boys.  At home they played minecraft.  Daddy and Adam went to town to get Pi's and pizza for dinner.  We watched the movie Mall cop.

We got some snow during the night and the roads were slick this morning.  After school I went home to check on the sheep and then headed to town to do some shopping.  Jacob had a class tonight and had to dress up.  I made Jared's birthday cake and wrapped presents.

 Daisy and her new lamb

Jared checked on the sheep this morning and found that Daisy had lambed during the night.  It was a large boy lamb weighing 16.1 lbs!  He was already dry.  We got them into a stall and they are doing great.  After work I hurried home and went right in the check on the sheep.  Blanch had lambed but the lamb didn't make it.  I'm thinking it may have come breech.  What a bummer!!  The mom was really pawing at him, trying to get him to stand.  He weighted 15.9 lbs.  I checked the to make sure there were no more lambs.  I had to leave because I had a dentist appointment.  After my appointment I met Mom, Dad, Vikki and the kids at Tim Hortons.  Mom and Dad treated us to goodies and coffee.  We sat in the comfy chairs and visited.  From there Vikki and I went to Best Buy, Old Navy, and TJ Max.  I met Jared and the boys in Midland for our 4H animal meeting. We watched an I Love Lucy before bed.

Snow day!!

Today we had a snow day!!  Yay!!  Jacob slept in but hurried out of his room this morning when he though we'd overslept.  Eli made scrambled eggs and hasbrown for him and Jacob.   Adam still has a fever off and on.  We had fun playing games.  The boys had a lot of fun playing in the snow. We unloaded the kiln this evening.

2/8/2020

Adam and Eli were up early and watched tv.  Jacob woke up when Daddy and Adam got home with our Sat goodies.  This afternoon the boys helped me do some cleaning.  Then they had fun playing catch in the living room.  We joined for a game of Risk on the iPods.  Then Adam and I played Ticket to Ride.  We made up some new rules an.  Eva's lamb was soaking wet.  She must have fallen in the water tank. We towel dried her.
