1/22/2020

I came home from work and went out to check on the sheep.  Fryne was laying down by the hay where she's been for the last few days.  She was acting droopy and didn't want to get up.  She was sniffing her sides and has some mucous.  I went inside for about 20 minutes and came back out to check on her.  She was laying down and there was a lamb coming.  I had to break the water bag because it looked like just a head.  The lamb was coming with one foot back and the other hiding under its chin.   She wouldn't be able to deliver such a large lamb in that position.  I called Jared and he headed home.  I got the snare cords out and put one on the lambs leg and on on its head.  Then I pushed it back against her contractions.  Once back in I searched for the missing leg.  I could feel several legs so I pulled the one I though belonged to this lamb.  Once the lamb was in the correct position I helped her deliver it.  I put the lamb by her head and she started licking it.  It wasn't long before the next lamb was coming.  Its elbows were stuck so I straightened them.  When Jared got home we moved them into the stall.  We tubed them some colostrum.  They are healthy twin girls.  They weigh 10.7 and 11.9 lbs. We gave Fryne some warm molasses water and she sure liked that.  I stayed home to clean thing up and do laundry.  Jared went to school to get the boys.  Adam saw it was Daddy and asked, "Is there lambs?"  When they got home Eli ran straight to the barn so he could see the new lambs.  He loved holding them even though they were still wet.  The boy and Daddy played minecraft.  Then Daddy and I played a game of Ticket to Ride.  This evening we went to the Midland forest sledding hill.  The boys had such a great time sledding.  We came home and made taco's for dinner.  

1/19/20

After first service we stayed so we could be in the nursery for second service.  We went grocery shopping and got pizza for lunch.  This afternoon Daddy took Eli to Lane's birthday party at Valley Lanes bowling.  He had so much fun.  While they were gone I took Jacob to Kohl's to pick out some jeans.  Adam's not feeling well and has a fever.  The boys played mineraft with Daddy.  Adam played me in a couple games of Ticket to Ride. This evening we watched Cool Runnings and had popcorn pop and ice cream.

1/18/20

We got about 4 inches of snow during the night.  Jared went to town for our Sat goodies. We all played a game of Ticket to ride.  Adam won.  Adam and Eli spent hours playing in the snow.  We played another game Ticket to ride. Daddy plowed the driveway and made a big pile of snow for the boys.  His tractor got stuck in the driveway because the tires spun and made slick ice.  I put salt around the tires and Jared got some boards. It wasn't long then and it was out.

1/17/20

Mr Shephard's Dad directed for one song.  

Eli fell asleep before I came in to tuck him in.

Jared and I took the day off work so we could got to Jacob's band concert in Grand Rapids.  We stopped for coffees at Tim Hortons on the drive there.  We got there around 12:15 and had a hard time finding a parking garage that wasn't full.  We found one but there were only a few spots open on the very top.  Meridian played at 2:00.  The band played 7 songs and they did great!!  The neighbors made sure Adam and Eli got home from the bus safely.  We got home around 5:30.  The evening we watched the Beverly Hillbillies.  Jacob sure had a great time on his trip.

1/16/2020

Jacob left today at 3:30 with his band for Grand Rapids.  They rode charter buses there and are staying at the Amway Grand Plaza hotel. Concert tomorrow!

1/15/20

Eli and I played many games of candyland.  Adam played one round with us.
