Blanket fort

Bruce brought the boys over this morning around 7:30 and they get to spend the day with us.  They  watched Garfield, played with legos, played on the sandhill, built a blanket fort on the playground, and had fun playing with nerf guns and sticks.  They also joined on their iPads to play minecraft. Eli and Jack played with legos in the tub for a long time.  Evan check for eggs a few times and collected some to take home.  Jack came in the house screaming and saying he got stung.  I put some medicine on it and that helped it feel better right away.  We met Bruce at Tim Horton's at 4:30.  Jared was also there and we headed to home depot for boards and chain.  We put boards around the bottom of the playground and replaced the chain on our swings and glider.

Jacob and Jared headed off to the eye dr today to see about getting a new pair of glasses.  They covered 75% of the replacement cost under warranty.  Jared took the day off work so we could celebrate our 15 year anniversary.  He surprised me with a capuccino from Tim Hortons.  We took a walk in the woods and then started draining the pool.  Then we decided to work on taking apart the boys fort because it needed to be leveled.  We changed the way it was built when we put it back together.  The boys were a great help.  Jacob really did a ton of work.  He kept saying "this is really fun!"  We had to leave around 5:00 because Adam had soccer practice and we needed to stop at the store for new cleats and socks.  Jared dropped us off and then headed to Darren's house to check on their cats.  Then he went to Pi's to pick up our dinner.

Parent picnic with Daddy

Wyatt chewed Jacob's new glasses.

I had to work from 2-7:30 today to cook and serve for the elementary school picnic.  I was bummed I had to work because I wanted to go with Eli.  Daddy took Eli and I got to serve them hot dogs.  I got to talk to them and get hugs from Eli.  I also got to watch him play with his friends.  His good friends Lane and Jayden are in his class this year.  Mrs Lex (their teacher) let them switch lockers so Eli and Lane are sharing.  Adam and Jacob stayed home.

Happy Birthday Papa!!

I worked at the elementary this morning.  We made and laminated cards for the kindergarters.  Took around wipes, straws, and lunch count forms to the teachers.  Then when stock came in we worked on putting that away.  The cooler and freezer storage is very small for all that needs to go in it.  I got done at 1:00  We still do not have a head cook but Connie is working that position for now and will be training me.  After Jared got done with work we went to the middle school to get the boys class schedules.  We couldn't get Jacob's locker open.  From there we headed to Vikki's and then to the hospital to celebrate my Dad turning 70!  We sang and had cake and ice cream and had a nice visit.  Took a walk outside with my sisters and Hailey.  There was a huge thunderstorm on the drive home.  Lots of lightening and rain.

I worked at the elementary this morning.  Came home for lunch and to check on the boys and Wyatt.  Back at school we finished working on lunch cards.  Jacob had stayed at Nik's house and they came home and spent some time in the pool.  Nik went home and came back later with his parents to say goodbye.  They leave in the morning for Texas.  We sure are going to miss Nik!

After church we worked on finishing the deck.  Jacob went over to Nik's to spend the night.  They came back to play in the pool until late.  We sent them home with cream sodas and they came back for popcorn. We finished watching Peter rabbit and had popcorn pop and ice cream.

8-25-18

We watched Garfield this morning.  Jared and Adam went into town for goodies. We took a walk in the woods and then Jared got out the lawn mower and his chain saw and we made a new path.  We also took down a dead tree.  The boys got the house set up for another nerf battle.  This time it was Jared and I vs the rest of them.  We had a lot of fun.  After a couple hrs we took a break for lunch.  Then the boys decided to go swimming.  After swimming they played with guns outside.  Jared and I worked on tearing apart and rebuilding the front deck.  After dinner the boys went back in the pool.   Nik went home around 8:30.
