Talking to Nana
We stayed up last last night decorating for Adam's birthday. I decorated his superman cake and Jared decorated the kitchen with streamers and balloons. The alarm was set for 7am. Daddy woke up the birthday boy and we sang to him. Adam liked seeing all the decorations and the cake. He quickly got dressed for the day and was ready to open his presents. He opened a present from Jacob first which was a little boat for the pool. Jacob had made him a little card with a bookmark attached (like the Bible, he said). Then he opened Eli's gift which was some twistable slick sticks. Next he opened gum, a nerf football, an imaginext space shuttle and launch, a transformer placemat, and a superhero cape and mask that I'd made for him. Adam shared some gum with his brothers. Daddy took Jacob to school before going to work. Adam and I had fun playing with the space station and his football. Then he did some drawings with his new markers. We went outside and Adam fed the sheep and let the chickens out of the coop. The boys really like holding the smaller chickens. Adam walked around holding two of them. I gave Adam some underdogs on the swing. He was wearing his cape and mask and asked me to take some pictures and a video of him. Daddy got home from work around 10:00. Grandma and Grandpa called to talk to Adam. Uncle Dee was there visiting and got to talk too. We found a caterpillar in the driveway which Eli held for awhile. Eli got out the t-ball set and we played a little of that. Around 11:00 we headed to Tim hortons. The "ATM lady" told Adam happy birthday. Eli waved at her:) Adam and Eli got some donut holes and I got a coffee. Adam asked us to tell the lady at Tim Hortons that it was his birthday today. He unbuckled and came up front so he could tell her himself. We were going to Thrune park but that park was closed today. So we went to a park by the tridge instead. Eli and Adam really enjoyed swinging on the tire swing. Adam and I had fun hiding on Daddy and Eli. We went to Mcdonalds around 1pm for lunch and the boys had a great time playing in the play area there. We stopped at meijer on the way home. Adam and Daddy went in there to get air condition fluid for our van. Adam came out with orange tic tax for him and his brothers. We got home around 2:30. Adam and Eli played in the pool for a while. Eli mostly played over the edge of the pool. Daddy got Jacob off the bus. I tucked Eli in for a nap. Jacob and Adam played with the space shuttle for a long time. Then they made some pictures to give Nana and Papa. Nana gave the boys a few presents to open before we ate dinner. They got some coloring books, crayons, candy, and a puzzle eraser. Later Eli opened some candy, crayons, and a little stuffed dog (which he loves) from Nana and Papa. Daddy grilled hot dogs and we had deviled eggs and chips for dinner. After eating Adam got to open his presents. Nana and Papa got him some cool explorer stuff. We sang to Adam and he blew out his candles. Adam was excited to have his own little cake and superman ice cream. This evening we had a sleep out and watched Aladdin. I went down to lay on the floor by Adam and he said, "oh did you want to lay by the birthday boy?" It was a great day celebrating Adam turning 5!
